This guide explains how to add a new photograph or document to the system.



== What is a DigitalAsset? ==

A DigitalAsset is a source such as:

* a photo
* a scan
* a letter
* an article
* a PDF

Each source gets its own page.



== Step-by-step ==



=== Step 1 – Prepare your file ===

Make sure you have:

* the image or PDF ready
* good quality if possible



=== Step 2 – Create the DigitalAsset page ===

Open the DigitalAsset form.

Fill in:

* title or short description
* chapter
* place or organization
* any notes

Save the page.

The system will automatically generate an identifier.



=== Step 3 – Upload the file ===

Upload the file using the generated identifier as the filename.

Example:

  CH03-ROM-0007.jpg



=== Step 4 – Link the file ===

Attach the file to the DigitalAsset page.

Your source is now:

* stored safely
* documented
* searchable
* linked to research objects
